Garndpa was the one of the best anyone could ever ask for. He was always there when we needed him when we were younger. He taught me how to drive and how to use a computer. He always had stuff to do when we went to visit him. I loved going camping in his RV with him. We always had a good time. He was loved very much and we will all miss him greatly. I am thankful that I got to visit him one last time before he passed. I am just happy that he is not in any more pain and he is happy wherever he is. We will always remember him.

I never really said goodbye to Don. Several of us were visiting him on the Thursday before he went home to be with the Lord. But when it was time to go, I simply said, "See you later," as I shook his hand for the last time. Our eyes met and I suppose the thought crossed both our minds, "Not in this life you won’t unless it's very soon." As it turned out, the "see you later" will be when we are both in the presence of the Savior at last. That will be a time of indescribable joy and happiness. I don't know what pain and suffering is in store for me between now and that time, but I am very thankful that Don's pain and weakness are over and now there is nothing by joy for him. However, I know that the sadness is not over for Don's family and they continue to be in my prayers. May the Lord be gracious to you all with His comfort, rest, and strength. A few people may have had the impression that Don was a soft-spoken man who never felt strongly about anything, but that was not the case as illustrated by the following excerpt from something that was written by Don Norman 12/03/2006. "There are some things that offend us too and that we also kind of hate. Pornography, drugs, prostitution, filthy TV especially during hours children are watching. We are offended by schools teaching crazy, unproven theories as facts, and wrong as being right. We don’t understand why you feel you have a right to shove your filth down our throats. We are very offended by judges who can read something in the penumbra (shadows) of the constitution without telling us what they were smoking." Amen. Preach it Brother!

I only knew Don for not quite 4 years but I knew by his words and actions that he loved the Lord Jesus. He always wanted he and Joy to host the missionaries even though sometimes he wasn't feeling well. He and Joy worked in the booth our church had at Bohemia Days in Cottage Grove and he came to many prayer sessions for the missionaries . Now he is with the Lord he loved and served!

Don took us camping when Danielle and Matthew were little. It was our first time so we went for 3 days. At the end of the 3 days the kids were having so much fun that we decided to stay for another 3. What a joy it was to see my young children having so much fun in the outdoors with their grandpa.

Don was my father-in-law through good times and bad. He was always there for me and my children. I will love him forever and think of him daily.
