Dorothy was a firm lifelong friend to my mother Mollie Heard (nee McConnell). They had fun together, and no doubt also consoled each other in difficult times. She visited our home when I was a child and brought boiled sweets, no doubt of the highest quality. She welcomed contact from me and my family, sadly only Christmas cards, and we will miss her.
