Fond memories of the challenging time Edith had when chairing th Prime Minister's National Consultative Council for Women back in early-mid 1980's. As a Council we debated, advocated, fought and disagreed, yet Edith always held fast to a dignified and professional approach to our work.

I first met Edith when I was also involved in the IYDP committee. New to wheelchair use I found her a great model of ow to deal with the intentional and accidental discrimination experienced. She and the late Richard Llewellyn showed me the way to be involved and active in the assertion of our rights. I moved on to leadership in the more general Healthcare consumer rights so I "blame" them. Edith's personality was a delight and her humour infectious. Though out of touch for many years I think of her often with fondness. I am grateful for her life so well lived.
