As the first Grandchild, Poppy always indulge me in the vege garden. He was happy to show me what seeds grew into the vegetable. He taught me all about the seasons, he even allowed me to dispute the benefits of growing without chemicals only to be told by Nana that he gave it a go, planting marigolds with tomatoes. Pop always laughed at my silly jokes and was always telling me what a strange child I was which I took as a huge compliment. I took great pride in the fact I was the only one allowed in the garden with him. I have grown vege's everywhere I have lived even in the flat in bondi. When visiting him with Dad in his later years he filled me with great pride when he informed me how much he loved my fighting spirit and that I reminded him so much of Joan. I am so grateful for our wonderful phone conversations, which I miss so much. He was the best grandfather. He was so elated when my daughter made him a great great grandfather, he never thought he would see the day. I have so many wonderful moments with Pop in the vege patch. Always in my heart. Love Ev
