I think we all actually smiled honestly in this pic. Amazing. Well actually Laura usually smiles nicely in her pics, but Elliott like to make goofy faces, and me, I just look mad or something. Doesn't Elliott look awesome here?

I gotta agree...we all look pretty darn good here. : ) We had this pic done for Daddy for Fathers Day in 1994. I'm so glad we did this for him. It wasn't easy bullying Nelson & El into goin to the photographer's & then actually relaxing enough to take a nice natural pic. : ) This came out just perfect, all of us w/ a true smile on our faces. We love you Daddy.

I'll never forget our last Christmas together as a family....Daddy always taught us to work hard for what you have, material things do not matter. So that Christmas, Daddy had all of us make/build/create something for each other as gifts, rather than buying them. At 1st, we thought this was a dumb idea of course. But then we began to imagine, to invision, to create. We worked so hard, paid attention to every detail. WOW we made some beautiful gifts, things that could never be replaced. And we were together, a family. As a kid, it's hard to understand the values that your parents are trying to teach you. As an adult, you realize how much these lessons have formed you as a person. And you can finally appreciate them. That Christmas will always be one of my favorite memories EVER.

George W. Baker,
a reasonable man?
a stable man?
maybe not
But,
a creative man
a loving man
a funny man
a caring man
a fighter
because when you fall asleep
part of a family
a 6 year old boy
and you wake up
forever.............
wondering................
how anyone could
leave
a six year old boy
when your dad goes to work
and you wonder...........
will he come back?
......how can you feel safe?
how can you live
when you died
a six year old boy

I'm Pequot
a Gypsy
Irish too
I rely on this
when I'm feeling blue
I'm resourceful and proud
I keep on the move
my writing and humour
get me through
A man of song
from days of old
a dreamer
of dreams
unlived
untold
I leave for my children
this legacy
may they keep
each one
a memory

Going to Grouse Mountain in Vancouver as a kid, going up the tram and looking down at the city. The pen he gave me when I was about 9, that had purple ink and the ink was also perfumed!! I LOVED it and wrote him letters with it until it ran out. Also, going to see him in Sumas with my dogs and us watching Turner Classic Movies for hours, while drinking coffee and eating something chocolate of course, and trying to breath in the smoke.

Daddy you are just so handsome, you really could have been a star. You ARE a star Daddy......I just love you so much. We'll be together again Daddy....until then, you are in my heart & your Lauralie LOVES you. XOXO

Dad in Olympia, WA on a balmy day. Kitty took the picture. Handsome Daddy!!

I love this picture. He looks so much at home, so comfortable here.

Dad was in such great shape. This was in Dupont, WA at a guard shack. I came to work alot with him here. On the night shift he would drive around and check each check point to see if all okay. It got pretty spooky in some of the areas. Lots of wooded areas and sometimes we would hear scary animal noises. That was fun.

Hi Daddy, I wish I took the time to have gotten to know you, but I concentrated on being too unhappy with my life. I am so sorry!! I love you Daddy!!

Dad does look great here, and Kitty, he knows you loved him. We all could have known him a little better I think, but you can't change the past. Never live in the past. We were the best part of his life.

This photo is when George and I first dated, it was taken at the Boston Commons in 1970.. It was so very long ago and I miss him and cannot believed he actually died.

Boy, do I love this pic.....it is so special to me. What a coupla gorgeous kids!! Daddy looks so handsome, so tough & just so suave!!

Oh Daddy, I wish I had tried to make you happy when I was with you. I am so sorry!! So sorry!!

He looks like he was having a busy day at work here. I think if Kitty didn't stay with him those years in Washington, he would have had such a hard time thinking of how we all were, being so far from his kids. You living with him Kitty, and Susan being not too far away are what made him happy during this time. Life isn't easy for a teenager growing up in the middle of nowhere, not knowing many people or having much to do. I'm sure he understood this. It must have been hard. But he sure loved you Kitty.

16 years agoElliott looks like he's being a brat here. Or maybe he went to the bathroom and wanted to be changed but no one knew about it yet :)
