I moved to Aspen,Co in November 1981. I worked and lived in the center of town. One night I decided to treat myself to a good meal at a nice restaurant, and while I finished my coffee and book I relised someone at the next table was talking about me in a flirty way. I looked up ,and it was John. I know he and Annie had just separated. I also know he had dated a few woman in town. I just smiled and walked out. That memory , and my 63rd birthday made me buy one of his CDs. My sister dead suddenly in March, his music got me thru her death. I now would liked to kick myself for walking away. I will always love you Henry John.

My parents only allowed us to listen to classical music till I was about ten...so the first time I heard John Denver, it was a huge deal. My favorites are Annie and Grandma's feather bed. I think back now and wonder if dad regretted buying that first John Denver CD as although we handled it with care and it still is in perfect shape...no scratches (we said hello to the belt if we scratched a cd through carelessness) we played it almost every day. However I do believe John Denver is one of the very few that cannot be "overplayed." Lady gaga and Diddy will never be able to say that about their music. Thank you Mr. Denver for enriching my childhood, my kids will deff grow up with you:) ps...I'm 21

We rode dirt bikes & fished in the Catskill mtn. streams, and relaxed in the beauty of our existance. Gods presence was felt just by being there......and then came the joy of music and voice of John Denver. Poems prayers and promises Filled up our senses. It was a wonderful time to be alive, and to absorb life.....and have the gentle beautiful, and fun music of John Denver surrounding us at the camp fire. Beautiful memories. Thank you John Denver.

I first met John just before the album "Poems, Prayers and Promises" came out....a bunch of us went to a party with John and we passed the pipe around, it was so much fun getting to meet him and when the album came out I was first in line to get it...I can remember when I asked about it they said "John Denver who???" it didn't take long though and everyone knew who. This was back in the early 1970 or 71 sometime. I followed his life and again in the late 80's I saw him again at a Houston concert, I took my 15 year old son to meet him and we got to go backstage to meet him....I loved that man and he made this world a better place, he is greatly missed...

I've never told a soul JD and I never will. I will always remember you and hold you in my heart. Tears still come when I think of you and the loss of a cherished "secret" friend will forever rip me in two, but memories, especially of 1983 will give you life in my heart.
