Dulcie, Jenny, Tim , Di and family, I rarely look at, as Jock always described them, the "hatches, matches and despatches" but for some unknown reason looked at them in yestyerday's SMH today. Condolences to you all. "Dulce" from the time that you and Jock arrived at number 31 Kenneth you were my second parents, mates of Mum and Dad and generally the best neighbours anywhere in my life so far. I still recall Jock's love of the garden, especially the camelias and the roses, his love of red wine and the odd home bottling of Craigmoor wine in you garage, your Bran biscuits ( still need that recipe!) Jock's great sense of humour ( especially that old Australian poem he used to recite after a few grogs "How do ya feel, how do you expect a man to bloody well feel......" , his solid reliable good advice, love of golf, good cheer, enjoyable presence and his good spirit, even after some sad times along the way. He was a gentleman. I still bank with Westpac, thanks to Jock, miss the apples etc that periodically arrived from his travels, miss what became 'my second family" - the old 'what neighbours used to be about". Dad passed away in 1985, Mum in 1998 and as I think of them, I also often think of Jock and Dulcie - and still recite that poem at times! Dulicie, Jenny, Di and Tim - fond memories of Jock remain and will continue to do so for many years. Big Hug to you all at this time. Love, David Crofts (Junior!)
