I will always remember Jeff's wonderful work; he gave such life to every character he played. What a great actor! My fondest memory is of his character "Mac" on Magnum. Deepest condolences and prayers to all his family and friends. Be in peace and light, Jeff.... Cathy

My prayers go out to his family and friends. I so enjoyed his work in Black Sheep Squadron, Tales of the Gold Monkey and Magnum. He always made me smile and still does in the DVDs. I am sure he is acting and flying something in Heaven. Rest In Peace and God Bless.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Jeff's passing. My condolences go out to his family. I have been a fan of Jeff's since his days on Black Sheep Squadron. I have been a big fan of the that show since day one. I also watched him on Magnum Tales of the Gold Monkey, and JAG but his character of Don French was always my favorite.I was lucky enough to have the chance to meet Jeff at an airshow in 2002. He was sweet, funny and charming. It was so nice of him to humor an 'old' fan with stories from a show that had not been on the air for some 25 years. Rest in peace, Jeff.

I had the pleasure of working with Jeff in May 2008 on his last film, and it was a lot of fun to hear his stories. He was a gentleman and a wonderful, talented actor. He will be missed, but he leaves behind a major legacy.

My deepest condolences to Jeff's family and friends. I'll never forget something he said once on the Magnum PI newsgroup. It solidified my impression of him as a regular, nice guy. He said he was just a guy who went to work every day like the rest of us, except he happened to go to work on a sound stage. Sail on, Jeff. The world is a lesser place without you.

I knew Jeff from his days at Tulsa Edison High School & saw him whenever he came to Tulsa for the charity golf tournaments. He was always friendly & willing to talk to all the fans. He will be greatly missed. My prayers go out to his family.

Jeff was an old friend of mine. We played in golf tournaments together and, although we saw very little of each other, we developed a very special and unique intellectual kinship. He was the salt of the earth, and great company at any depth of the relationship that you chose to pursue. He was also a fine actor, who in the past was never really given the chance to explore the limits of his talent. Recently, I made a full length feature called "December" which is in the rough cut stage of development. Jeff starred in the movie which is a wonderful story about a young man forced to make a choice between career and family. In "December," in the twilight of his career, Jeff was given an opportunity to play the roll of a domineering father and a powerful businessman on the verge of buying a major league baseball team. In deference to his extraordinary skills, he was given the latitude to stamp his own personal signature on the character and his performance explodes on the screen. December" will be Jeff''s last curtain call. "December" will be his legacy.

I just heard about this. for some reason, it wasn't reported on in any sci-fi news. I only found out about it while on TvNewsOnDVD.com while reading a rumor that "Tales of the Gold Monkey" might be released on DVD soon. I also enjoyed Jeff's work on (the original) Battlestar Galactica. RIP dude. Fiz

Personally I will remember him as the one who talked to us in the alt.tv.magnum-pi newsgroup. He was always nice, approachable by fans and so informative in his articles in our never ending talk about Magnum P.I. I am sure that fans of other series featuring Jeff MacKay made similar experience. Rest in Peace, Mac, we will miss you!

I was on a half day boat fishing off of San Pedro, CA circa 1986 and he was fishing right next to me. Okay, I don't know for sure because he never said his name nor did I ask but he was the splitting image for Mac from Magnum PI and I really think it was him. Anyone know if he was a fisherman? It was him I'm sure it was. Anyway he was great on Black Sheep, Magnum and anything he was in. I found out he passed away just now by accident trying to look up info on him. I was shocked and saddened. Great actor.

I have been a fan of Jeff MacKay since 1982, when I first saw Tales of the Gold Monkey. I love the character Corky. I have been following his career since then. My thoughts are with Jeff and his family. In Jeff's honour, I have been re-watching all of the episodes of Tales if the Gold Monkey. It is so sad to hear that he has passed away. Rest in Peace.
