I met Jitske through the family time in Nigeria. She was always calm and a measured person - always willing to help and listen. It is such a shock to loose you. Deep down I believe that you will live through your children, you have not gone too far. I pray that Joep will find hope and strength in the children you bore him. Lieve Joep en familie, Wij hebben elkaar maar 1 keer ontmoet in Nairobi, maar ik heb Jitske vaker gezien bij babygroepen. We konden het meteen goed vinden met elkaar en deelden onze vreugden en moeilijkheden van het leven in Kenia met kleine kinderen. We zagen elkaar niet zo vaak als we wilden, maar iedere keer als we elkaar tegen kwamen was het leuk en vertrouwd. We hadden elkaar al een tijd niet gesproken en ik wist niet wat ik las toen het bericht doorkwam dat Jitske er niet meer is. We wonen nu sinds kort weer in Nederland en we missen Kenia heel erg. Dit trieste nieuws komt extra hard aan, Jitske was een deel van 'mijn' Kenia... Wij leven heel erg met jullie mee en wensen jullie ontzettend veel sterkt voor de toekomst. When i first met her she was an incredibly loving wife to her husband. She was tall, beautiful and very soft spoken. Yet she was very clear on what she thought. When she first found out about Noah, she was soo excited, and spoke about him all the time. She was so dedicated to raising Noah properly, and ensuring that he grew up in a Christ Centred home. She also put in alot of effort into her marriage with Joep, and i really admired their relationship. You blessed me with your Faithfulness, your Honesty and the way you kept me Accountable. I will honor your memory by passing on those values to my children Jitske. I wanted God to heal you, because you had so much to pass on to those kids, and so much more to give the world. I have a sense that they will be fine, i just cant believe you wont be around to see them, and to see the fruit of your womb, mature and grow into the children you wanted them to be. If i ever do come across them again, Jitske, i will be sure to tell them who you were to me, and how you blessed me and my family. Till we meet again , friend
