I have only read about John, especially his chess. Chess lovers like me will miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with John's family and loved ones.

John and I were primary and early highschool friends. He was a constant source of fun things to do; incredibly loyal and supportive; consistently good humoured - really just a great mate! In later years, I seldom saw him but we were always able to pick up where left off. Along with many others , I shall miss him!
