I am unable to get to the funeral as I live in Canberra but I always held Joe in the highest regard. He was my coach when I first came into senior rugby and realising I was pretty nervous, boosted my confidence immensely before my first game. He didnt say a lot but his words were a combination ofinspiring, yet distracting and to the point and delivered in such a matter of fact way I was immeditely calmed. I will remember them always. Joe was my great inspiration as a coach and used his methods when I came to coach senior rugby in later years. I even tried his ideas and coaching methods when I went into management in later years. May he rest in peace
