Kevin I will remember your big smile.......You never treated anyway different. You were and are a kind soul. I am going to miss you............................Thank you for everything! My thoughts are with your family and friends............................REST IN PEACE!!!!!!!
I remember Kevin as being just a respectful, gregarious nice guy. shy and loving. Although he was behind me in high school (go Thornridge, Home of the Falcons!) I watched his career all the way through professional. When he did a basketball camp in Phoenix, Illinois (my home town) we were thrilled that he didn't forget about us! May his soul rest in peace and God Bless to his family.
Oh Kevin, we will miss you. Not only were you a key figure in this cities most beloved team, you were also a terrific person who always set a good example of for the rest of us; a trait sorely missing in today's athletes. Thank you for all the hours of entertainment, and for your passion for Portland; the tv and this city will never see another Duckworth. When I first heard I couldn't believe it, now though I am happy. Our big man, is now in heaven with the biggest BIG MAN. Kevin will always remain in my heart, and now we can be assured that he'll forever be Red Hot and Rollin and not in a Clippers uniform (hell). Heres to you Big Guy!!!!!!!!! Justin
rest in peace big guy-heaven is wonderful place
The era in which Kevin played for the Blazers...that was the best era ever... with Porter, Drexler, Washington, etc. etc. He was my favorite on that team. My kids even had little Blazer T-Shirts with his name on the back. I am sad this day. He was so very young. My thoughts are with his family and all who knew him. I hope you are in a good place, Kevin. You definitely deserve to be!
I met Kevin while playing softball at Meldrum Park in Gladstone....he came there to see his (girlfriend or wife) dont remember which at the time ...He got out of his Hot sports car...and we couldnt believe he could even fit in it....I remember it was small...but hot... He was sooooooooooo polite and nice....answering all our questions....having conversations with us all....He had been sitting on a stump and we asked him to stand up, so we could see how tall he was..he laughed and ......he said if he stood up everytime some one asked him to ,he'd be a very rich man...*s*... He so kindly autographed my softball mit...and my keychain tennis shoe.....He was the nicest person.....and i never forgot him......meeting him made me start watching the Blazers....and havent stop since...that was many many years ago....Thanks Kevin...for being such a kind and caring celebrity....
