To dear Lilian, I have turned you into a drinker where you were a wine maker! You loved good wine and great food, but we both met when we were not at our best! You were literally my room mate - Sacred Heart, not our best moments by any means! Yet your dignity and sense of humour buoyed us up every day. Your ability to turn vanilla iice-cream into wine and nibbles every night at 5.30 made a boring meal into fun but more importantly your courage, dignity and desire for a life filled with quality moments was sheer inspiration Rest well my friend, I rejoice in a life well lived, it was a pleasure to be able to call you my friend

To dear Lilian, Now that you have passed and pain, suffering, tiredness and medication are now longer a daily "must do" ritual, I pray and celebrate that you are now in heaven where wholeness, family lve and joy are your companions I only knew you a short time, but you touchec my heart and my being in a truly profound way, and being my room mate in a true sense (not an apartment but a room) I valued your company, your spirit, and your sense of humour whilst we underwent our treatments in thev Sacred Heart How you could turn Pauls Vanilla Icecream into Shiraz and nibbles - well they did feed us very early was the high point of dinner every night! More importantly was your desire to face your illness and the prospect of dying with so much courage and dignity. Your keeness to face your situation head on, your desire to leave this earth with as much control over that process as possible, and your desire to live life to the full is an inspiration to us all So enjoy your new life Lilian, thank you for being my friend and mentor, I will miss but never forget you
