I remember when i was about 8 and Jillian would be my sisters and my babysitter. We had a blast that summer having so many lemonade stands that I had enough money to last me that whole summer. When Maura, Fiona, and I had pen pals from Belize and wishing that we could go to Belize one day. Makayla was born she was the cutest thing ever and I loved her so much. The beach was never the same since she stepped on. It was happier and more colorful in ways that made everyone brighter. You are in my prayers and I will never forget all those wonderful summers. Thank you for being in my life, Bitsy

It's just not fair that such graceful people can be taken from a world that really needs them. The ripple of their gentle goodness will flow through the lives of so many they left behind. I remember this photo at the Aleardi's house from when we were little of the two families in Jamaica, with braids. I remember how beautiful the Schuessler girls were and how I wanted to go to Jamaica to get braids done, too. Just one of those fleeting memories...

There are no words, no songs, and no photos than can sum up how much Pat and I loved Mike, Jill, Makayla and Bryce and all we can do is hope that they knew that. It doesn't make sense that we won't spend another 4th of July together, or see another concert together, or just hug them all. We will never stopping missing them and will never stop seeing all of their beautiful smiling faces when we shut our eyes. Mike always closed his emails with a quote from a Grateful Dead song and so we say to you Mike, Jill, Makayla, and Bryce "fare you well, fare you well, I love you more than words can tell." Until we meet again... Lisl and Pat

These were two of the sweetest people I've ever met. They both had huge hearts and exuded happiness wherever they were. This is such a heartbreaking loss and my thoughts and prayers are with their families.

I always said Jill was the most beautiful girl I've ever seen.... face of an angel. I'm learning that since our days at SMC, that she and Mike also have the attributes of angels.... their contributions of education and love are truly inspiring. What a devestating and tragic loss.... my deepest sympathies to their families and friends.

Thanks so much Chris, for creating this special place for loved ones of Mike and Jill to visit and reach out to one another. I have so many memories of time spent with Mike and Jill racing through my mind. Each and every one is beautiful and seems almost magical now. I am clinging to each one, and trying to find a way to make sense of it all and find an ounce of peace... as we all are. Mike and Jill's love was far reaching and abundant; it will live on through us all, and we are all better people for having them in our lives. One thing I'm especially grateful for happens to be our son, Willie. Bill and I were talking yesterday of how he is truly an extension of Mike and Jill's love. Bill and I met at Mike and Jill's wedding; and because of them... we came together and created one more beautiful soul in this world. I feel their love in him. We are making arrangements to head east for the services, and look forward to feeling the warmth and love of this wonderful group of people who are all grieving their loss so deeply. Love to you all! Monica

Our heart are breaking trying to absorb the reality that The Casey Family is no longer with us. God must have needed 4 angels more than we did is all we can think! We will always remember the great times we had in Burlington during the St. Mike's years spent with Linda and Peter, Jill and Mike, Alex and all the great college friends that have now become like family to us. May they rest in peace and may their family of friends carry on their loving way of life. Our deepest condolences to all the Schuesslers and Caseys.

I am seriously distraught. Mike and Jill were by far the most grounded, down to earth and sincere people I have ever known. There wasn't a bad bone in their body. Their warmth and kindness was inspiring and infectious. I am so thankful that for the time I got to spend with them and will cherish the memories for ever.

Words can't express what I feel today. I am not sure if this is something we will ever get over and of course we will always ponder the question "Why?". Jill and Mike have been a part of my life for so long as they were such great friends to my sister, Alex, and over time to my whole family. From Stang to St. Mike's and to the present the memories I have I will always cherish. I think back to the last time I saw Jill, Mike, Mckayla and Bryce. It was this past summer. We were all down at the beach and Mike's whole family was there. I remember so clearly Cecelia and McKayla were having so much fun swimming and eating popsicles. Mike was spending quality time with his brothers and Jill and her mother and my mother and I were just sitting catching up. Baby Bryce was sound asleep under the umbrella. It was a beautiful day. Jill and Mike were the type of people that we all inspire to be. Their gentle way and their simpleness will be something I will always admire and hope to make a part of my life. My heart goes out to their families and to my sister who has lost one of her best friends. Love to you all! -Kate

I can't believe what has happened. I am just struggling and so incredibly sad. Memories are flooding in of every moment I've spent with Mike and Jill but I just keep coming back to the question 'Why?' I am truly lucky to have met such wonderful people and I will always treasure every second I had with them. My condolences to the Casey and Schuessler families. I am so very sorry.

we are so shocked by all of this. it just doesn't seem real. how could some of the best people in the world who live there lives in ways we are all envious of, get taken away from all of us. they left such a mark on all of us on how to live our lives and we will always remember that and strive to be half of the people you were. you will truely be missed. our condolenses to both Mike and Jill's familys.

There aren't really enough words to describe how shocked and saddened I was when I heard this horrible news. I cannot fathom how four such young, beautiful people who were so full of life can now be gone. I consider myself so lucky that I was able to spend time with them in December, and will carry that memory and the countless others with me always. Love you all and miss you already.

I'm deeply saddened and stunned. Jill, Mike --- such a good-living, soulful couple who lived with tremendous purpose and love. Your wonderful example lives on. My heart goes out to the Schuessler and Casey families, close friends, and all those who were blessed to know this beautiful family.

There is too much to be missed to even know what to say, but their purity of character, selflesness, and joy are things we can only hope to acheive in our own lives. Their teaching by example will be what always lives with me.

I am so sad that today was not just some really bad dream. I cannot even begin to say how sorry I am for the Casey and Schuessler families. When I think about Mike and Jill and their beautiful children, I feel blessed to have been able to know them. Mike and Jill were two of the most special people that I have ever known. They had courage and strength to live the life that they wanted. They brought joy to their students and the community of Gallon Jug. They were friends to so many, and they have left a huge hole in our lives. I love you, and will miss you always.

What a beautiful family. I love them. This past summer when I was getting close to labor, Jill totally set me at ease as is her way. Her calm strength was inspiring. She made it seem so easy, I thought of her everyday. I will miss them so much; what wonderful people. I always spoke about what they were doing. How cool for making such a huge change in a community. They truly followed their hearts...love them.

To say I am a better man for knowing Mike & Jill would be an understatement. I miss my friends as my thoughts go out to their families, friends, and all of the people in this world lucky enough to have been touched by them. Your Friend Forever, Brett
