Nehama's vibrant, enthusiastic, encouraging, inspiring, strong, courageous, loving self will remain with me forever. In 1983 I sang at a school competition. Nehama was the adjudicator. She not only encouraged and inspired me immensely, but asked me to sing and play on Young Talent Time. Later, she was also a guest lecturer for one of my Bachelor of Music Education subjects. She allowed me to sit in on some of her private lessons. I will pay tribute to her as I perform my own songs now as I hope to be special for people as she was for all of those who knew her. I had sung "You Light Up My Life' at the competition and on YTT; Nehama did just that. She lit up our lives. With gratitude for having known Nehama, Ali.

I remember Nehama when I used to go to the flats where she lived to have piano lessons from Margot Sheridan, herself a great pianist. At that time Nehama was a little girl of 4 years of age, with beautiful curls. I also met "Uncle Patkin" and remember how lovely they both were. Beryl Jones (now Vangou)

We feel very privileged to have known Nehama. Our son Anand learned piano from her for 4 1/2 years. Those were very memorable as she was instrumental in instilling a love for music in his young mind. We have a lost a great teacher and it would be very hard to replace the vacuum she has left behind. Our condolences to her family. Kannan and Lalitha

We feel privileged to have known Nehama. Our son Anand learnt piano from Nehama from a very young age and her enthusiasm for music was something we will remember for a long time to come. She has given so much to young children and we are sure she will missed by the music community all over the world. Our heartfelt condolences to her family.

I too am deeply saddened by the passing of Nehama Patkin. A true credit to all who serve & an inspiration to those who wish to better this world. I remember first meeting Nehama during 2008 with my daughter Courtenay at the ROMAC Gala Dinner - she was warm, enthusiastic, energetic & bathed in the aura of life. So impressed, I invited her as a guest speaker at Richmond Rotary in my presidential year; we remembered it being a great evening & Nehama even gave us a chorus of "Playschool"! The world has lost a sparkling light but the glow will always remain in our hearts. Trevor Pang Past President Rotary Club of Richmond, Victoria, Australia

Nechama was my piano teacher as a teenager. Her vivacious personality was infectious and her love of music a way of life. I continued to see her irregularly in the last years - and she always had a smile on her face - and her performances always full of soul. She will certainly be missed in the musical scene of Melbourne.

Nehama has been a wonderful and inspiring friend to me for about 34 years. Although I shifted from Melbourne to Queensland in Dec1996 we have kept in touch as recently asduring her last overseas trip with Ken.We travelled together with Nym Kim who celebrated her 11th birthday in new York following our attendance at a Suzuki World Conferencein Amherst, Massachusettts in the 1980's and it was impossible to keep up with her. She was a beautiful person, an inspiring teacher, a loyal friend, great musician, compassionate, thoughtful, and I could go on and on. She gave so much of herself and touched so many people in Melbourne, Australia and to Suzuki students and teachers all over the world. The impact she had on people will never be forgotten. I feel as if part of my personal history has died, together with this outstanding Australian. Nehama, my sister and I sang with Nehama at one of Israel's Day of Independance Concerts in Melbourne, I sang at one of her wonderful 'salon' parties and worked with her on other shows. She and her family made an incredible contribution to the Melbourne's social cultural, educational and musical scene. I am so sad that I didnt get a chance to say goodbye. Thank you Nechama, for your quiet moments of support to me. It boosted the esteem of this once young woman, in a moment I will never forget. My condolences to your family.
