It is now six months since the passing of my dear friend and colleague Pam, with whom I worked at the University of Sydney from 1972 until my relocation to Perth in 1980. Pam and I had a very special empathy in the merging of our ideas for a harmonious working relationship at our workplace. I consider myself particularly fortunate that we were able to continue a long friendship despite the geographical distance of being at opposite ends of the continent, myself in WA and Pam in NSW. The personal loss still cuts deeply and is a stark reminder of the wonderful value that goodness of character contributes to the lives of others, and is never lost.
