My memories of Pat go back to the mid 70's at Qantas, when we worked in Commercial Promotions at Australia Square. She was then promoting Qantas and Australia at trade-fairs in London, and over seeing VIP Jetbase Tours at Mascot. She was not only beautiful -- but full of joy, and funny. She was also in the Gossamer ad.at that time, which was showing on television and people began to recognise her in the street. This made her happy as she loved people and she was kind to everyone. I then went to live overseas, we lost track. I remember you as you were then -- such fun to be with and so full of kindness and love. You made me happy to know you and I;ll remember you always as you were then -- full of love of life.

From Andrew Swanson February 15 2011 As an adoring friend of this effervescent beauty in her early twenties in Melbourne, I salute you Pat. You were a true eleven out of ten. My heart goes out to Valerie, Kate, Barbara and Jane whom I had the pleasure of knowing in those early days. You will never be forgotten.

I only discoverd Pat had died a couple of weeks ago when a friend, Melanie Rendall, asked me if I would go with her to Pat's memorial service in London - but I couldn't because my mother is dying and I was with her then. But I wish I could have been there to celebrate her life because Pat was a wonderful woman and a hilarious employer. I worked for her at the end of the 1970s and beginning of the 1980s when she was organising the launch of Philippine Airlines flights to the UK. My work began as a three-week temporary job and ended up taking far longer and giving me the greatest gift; a great friend. Her ability always to face the most fraught of situations with the lightest of jokes delighted me. She was a wonderful, beautiful, funny friend. I never understood why the right man didn't turn up, why the right man never had the sense to fall for her, and I never will. I wish her family courage in their sadness and many many happy memories of a wonderful, beautiful, funny woman.

I didn't know Pat as well, or for as long as most of you who are reading this, but I feel very privileged to have known her at all. She was a gracious, kind and lovely lady in an age when such qualities are becoming rarer by the day. They don't make them like Pat anymore, and I do not think any of us will know her like again. My condolences to her mother and sisters.
