very sad news about a dear old friend.
Peter was an inspiration. He was caring, thoughtful, generous and kind. He made this world a better place. Sncere condolences to Cressida and his family. Bob Parr Wallis Cinemas Adelaide.
Peter was a stylish writer, a thoughtful critic, whose work I trusted both as a film-lover and an industry colleague. His rigour, passion and integrity stood out. During my time with the SFF, we had many long discussions about the changing roles of festivals, programming approaches and his contributions were by far some of the most valuable. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, his friends, his colleagues and his readers. He will be missed more than he would ever have known.
Peter was a stylish, thoughtful, rigorous, critical and joyful writer, reviewer, programmer and critic. He introduced audiences to films they may not have otherwise have considered, always with context but without pretension. During my time with the SFF I had many long and thoughtful discussions with him about the changing roles of festivals and his insights were some of the most valuable and considered. My thoughts and prayers with his family and friends at this desperately sad time, but I celebrate we have had him in our lives. He was always unsung for his true talent and ability.
I have always regarded Peter as a thoroughly good man with impeccable taste and a great appreciation for cinema and the arts. His contribution to cinema programming and film criticism was monumental in Australia. He will be greatly missed. My condolences to his family and close friends.
