My respect to a legend always thought of as a Giant among men who was as strong as he looked a real Mans Man.

Reg, my father met you when you came to California and he kept the picture you signed on the wall in his study in a place of honor. It hangs there still even though both you and him are gone. Thanks for meaning so much to him.

My Sincere condolences to Mareon, Jeunesse &Jon Jon on the loss of Reg. I was privileged to train under Reg's guidance in 1957 and 50 Years later I still train following the same discipline and routines that I learned from Reg. I was also privileged to be a member of the 4.30am training sessions at the gym in Kerk street where legends were born. Reg I will always remember you as my Mentor, inspiration and my hero. rest in piece. Ronnie.

I am sad to hear about the passing of Reg Park. He will always be remembered for his goodness and great body building example. He was a true champion. I will miss him.

As the body of Reg Park is laid to rest, his spirit lives on Champion bodybuilder and cult star, Reg Park passed away recently. The man who claimed three mighty Mr. Universe titles and countless other accolades in the Herculean world could not fight the one thing that was fighting against him – his body. An ailing man, riddled with metatstatic melanoma (a virulent form of skin cancer) Reg could no longer ward off this vicious disease. In the eight months since he was first diagnosed with this affliction, Reg exceeded the opinions of medical professionals the world over. It was stated that he held out four times longer than he should have, given the horrific nature of this terrible disease. Reg fought as only a true Herculean warrior could; with strength and love. His family was always at his side and his doting wife of 55 years, Mareon, was an inspiration to the whole family throughout Reg’s ordeal. I and countless others had the honour of training under the mentorship of the mighty Park. From a personal perspective, I wanted to know the man under the armour. Reg was kind and generous. He gave of his time and wisdom to those whom he saw hope in. He was a gentleman and a righteous man who loved his family deeply. He was firm but fair; a compassionate human being in a world where compassion may be mistaken for weakness. Reg was always a legend in my eyes; a man towering above his contemporaries and even raising the bar for others to follow. Reg Park will be sorely missed by thousands of fans and supporters across the world. From the Governor’s mansion in the Great State of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger was deeply saddened by the death of his mentor. Celebrities and champion bodybuilders in all corners of the world have paid their deepest respects to the man, the legend – Reg Park. A memorial service for Reg Park was held in Morningside Gauteng on Sunday 25 November at 16h30. Rest in peace, Reg the Leg!

I am so sad. Another childhood hero gone. Mr. Park had a sweetness of expression that no other movie hero ever had. I still watch these films not for the childish fantasy, but out of aesthetic appreciation of this great athlete, whom I now know was also a great person. Only the classically-oriented Italians could appreciate Reg's great physical presence.
