Dear Lorraine & David, I wanted to take the time to write to you today, to express my sympathy for the loss of your son Richard. Like you, my life has been touched by the untimely death of a loved one. My friends and family were a great comfort, but what helped me to cope was reflecting on the Bible's hope of seeing my loved one again, in what the Bible calls the Resurrection Hope". When all our dear friends and family that have passed away, will be brought back to life. Here are just a couple of scriptures in the Bible which describe this hope. Isaiah 25:8 "He (God) will actually swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will certainly wipe the tears from all faces".... John 5:28 " Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice (the voice of Jesus) and come out". I sincerely wish all the best for you and your family at this time. Kind Regards, One of Jehovah's Witnesses"

Very upset to read about what happened to young Richard. I knew Richard via his sister Melanie when we were at school in Wangaratta together. Last time I saw Richard was in Wangaratta around 8 years ago. Was always a great guy and am devestated to have read about what happened. My sympathies and best wishes go out to all of Richards friends and family.

Richard was a promising teacher, a talented musician, a good cook (loved his pickled vegetables and dips), a true gentleman, and a great friend. His sweetness will truly be missed by the friends he made in China (Foreigners and Chinese alike). However short it was, we are thankful for the times he shared with us his music, food, laughter, and most of all, his friendship. On behalf of IEN-English in Fuzhou, our deepest and sincerest condolences to his whole family. May his soul rest in peace.
