I met Bob when I commenced singing lessons with him in early 1989. He persuaded me that I was a tenor and introduced me to the world of classical music particularly art song and his beloved Lieder. He was a wonderful teacher who inspired me, gave honest and insightful advice becoming a much loved friend. I wrote to him recently to tell him how much his teaching continued to help me and how I felt I was at last achieving what he was directing me to years ago. His response was so beautiful as I read it again now. Bob, thank you for being a wonderful friend. We will miss you and extend our sympathy and kind wishes to your family and friends.
