Uncle Rowan was introduced to us by our grandfather Hari Singh, and what a lifelong gift our association with him has been for us. He was a mentor, a sage, and, above all, a human being who cared about other human beings. He was a man of action - I'll always retain the image of him carrying large pieces of medical equipment on the plane with him to Africa even in his later years! His action led to the founding of medical units, the refinement of the pacemaker, education for those who needed it. On a personal level, he afforded the same love to a garden he tended to every day, to the memory of his wife. He never said no to proposing a toast on a special occasion, and his words were always worth attending to. His motto was "You have to people to help themselves, my boy" and boy did he do that! Uncle Rowan, you took care of us and inspired us, as you did so many others. We rejoice in our memories of a productive and wondrous life. The Khurana and Singh Families
