Dearest Ruth, how beautiful and treasued your life and memory are to myself and my family. I remember as we eagerly awaited the arrival of this new family at No 4 Junction Road. The most wonderful family arrived vibrant, and alive with music. Henry and Ruth, Penny and Barbara, Over the years you became very dear friends of those of us at No 6 Junction Road. When we moved our hearts were saddened as we left behind the Berans who had become to us like family. We shared music, Ruth's delicious Viennese cakes to and fro and many treasured conversations. Ruth's love of life and deep and earnest intense inquiry into purpose and life itself led to many long talks between Jean (my late mother), and Ruth. I have such a deep love for your family and am deeply saddened at the loss of Ruth. I have prayed for her for so many years during these years of suffering. Ruth was a person that just made living shine with her beauty and depth and love. Truly, I am blessed that I was privileged to know Ruth as a neighbor and precious friend, a friend always vital and interested in my family and in my progress and musical carreer and a close friend to my parents. My deepest condolences and love to Harry, Penny and Barbara, Gregor and Francesca. Your neighbour of old, Noelene Poole.

I am very sad that I lost my auntie Ruth. I first met her when I was 14 yeas of age because we ended up in Australia from different parts of the world. She suffered a lot in her last years and I hope she has gone to a better place with no more suffering. I still have her good advice letters which used to run up to 4 pages of type written tomes and I thank you for those. I will always remember you with fondness. Love from your niece Monica

My memory Aunty Luth as I called her when I was young was one of a proud stoic woman with a beautiful bun in her dark hair. Ruth was always singing in her very high pitched canary voice and she always gaves me a little something ($$$) in my birthday cards for a little "kaufi, kaufi". Ruth made a fabulous roast chicken on Sunday nights and her tortes were sensational. In later years she would give me sound advice on life and marriage and was always interested in my life and family which gave me great pleasure to talk about. Ruth will be missed by me and my condolences go out to Henry, Penny, Barbara and family. Love Belinda Easson
