I don't know Shakilus or the Townsend family, but I have nephews. In May my nephew was set up, beaten up & robbed, again set up by a mixed race girl... It's just unfortunate they took Shakilus' young life. I hope that girl and them murderers get 1000 times worst than what Shakilus got... As well as their family, cos i don't know what type of home them F...ers came from. From what i can see of Shakilus... He is a handsome kid, he seem like he had a heart... Cos had he not he would of had a tool on him that day. Okay he had a pic throwing up gang signs, holding knives & a gun but he would of definitely grew out of the HYPE... They say they are trying to STOP the KNIVE crime... It's more than knives... it's media... and bare hype.... where are the positive black male role models, and what are they giving back to the youngers.... Nothing but "HYPE" Anyways to the Townsend family... Stay strong, your gorrrrgeousssss...... son is in a better place, away from sick, minded, murderers... His looking down, from paradise... God knows he did not deserve any of that. Take Care.... CC x

Anyone who is here to talk bad about Shak, are no better than the scum that killed him. Have some respect for his memory and his family. He had a mum, dad and brothers and sisters just like all of you that think you know so much about him, and they don't need to see this shit. Don't judge from the pictures that the media dug up. I lived next door to him for the last few months of his life, and he was always respectful, polite, and full of life and energy. He was living no different to any other teenage boy. Family and friends of Shak, keep your head's up because no-one knew Shak like you all did. Let these ignorant people's comments wash over your head and pity them. Just know that Shak is in a better place, where no more harm can come to him. The people that did this will get what's coming to them 1 way or another,we know this. R.I.P FOREVER

Marie's lad 'Steps' was getting into trouble in the film but the Rock gave him a job and got him off the streets and some self respect. If only more of these gansta types would take the same lead. Instead of 'taxing' or whatever you call it get a job and work hard to get the things in life you desire. You will then end up with a sense of self satisfaction, not dead or doing the big bitch in the slammer - FACT

Am going to try and keep this as respectful as I can although i honestly can understand the level of bitterness that is coming up here. On the one hand i feel sad that this child (cos that's all he was despite him thinking he was a big man) had his whole life ahead of him as a perfect newborn baby. So am sad for that, and his parents who have lost their child no matter what. But i also cannot bring it in myself to find any sympathy for him whatsover when you see the photos of him posing with guns and knives, making pathetic gangster signs. Two of my very closest friends are black and they too are appalled at this kind of culture and feel it disgraces their colour. One of them, a DJ, refuses to play any of the ganster rap music as he is dignified and moral enough not to think it is clever and glamourous. He is old school, playing the old soul funk records we used to listen to in the eighties where black men and women sang about positive things. I can't help resenting the fact that when i was growing up, we never had any of this knife crime (which everyone has to admit is predominantly by black people). Lad then fought with their fists or were man enough to accept they weren't 'tough' enough to take up the challenge. Anyone can be brave with a knife or gun, these pieces of scum can only hide behind weapons as they know they will get beat if they don't have them. Am afraid that if this young lad hadn't been killed, he would only probably be inflicting the same fate on someone else - and that person might have been TOTALLY innocent. Someone like Ben Kinsella, who'd never been in trouble in his life and who apparently got stabbed multipe times for treading on a black youth's toe. Respect?? Don't make me laugh, i don't respect low life knife carrying cowards.

please remember this is a memorial page for a boy whose parents and familey do not need to read negative things... why do some people need to be nasty just don't bother writing anything. Don't think of him as gone away his journey's just begun, life holds so many facets this earth is only one. Just think of him as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched... for nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much.

First of all i would like to say Rest In Peace Shaki! My thoughts and prayers are with your mum and family. I know she is going through hell and i vow to be the best friend i can when comforting your family up in North West London. Second i would like to express my pity towards those of you that seem to be unable to grasp the concept of what TRIBUTE means. Thsi page was set up for memories and thoughts going out to the Townsend/Dyer family. Not for racist comments and ignorant arguements. Seriously a lot of facts about Shaki have been distorted by a media we all know to be misguided. You are all entitled to your opinion but does it have to be on here. Does it have to be full of such bigetry. He was no angel. No ody who knows him is claiming he was. But he was just a baby. Somebodies first born son and very close to many peoples' hearts. Those are the people you are hurting with these comments and arguements. I would never promote gun crime. Killing for petty arguements eludes me. As a family friend i would plead for all those that have nothing but negativity in their hearts towards Shaki for them to find another platform to spout such hate. I feel sorry for you actually. For you not to understand the magnitude of how scary the world we live in is. Rather than looking for solutions everyone is just pointing fingers of blame. To all those I love. To all of Shaki's family. we know the truth. Remember him in the way you wish to. Do not allow low life, bored, moronic and racist people add anymore pain. You are going through enough. FOOD FOR THOUGHT....Shaki was not in a gang. he was attending college and was very proud of the changes he had been making in his life. He made a bad decision when he was younger but was doing the best to turn his life around. Everyone can make a mistake. He was becoming an adult and trying to do something better in his life.

have people just come on here to have a slanging match or to pay their respects to a young boy. I made a few comments earlier and i am saddened that since then people are STILL making nasty comments. Shakilus Townsend has died yes he was in a gang SO WHAT most of the people who have made comments did not know him, i didnt i came on here as a mother, who feels for the parents and family of Shakilus no parent wants this ending for there child or any other. People who are making the racial remarks make me ashamed to be white and the others who are just wanting a row go on msn. But the fact that you on here means his death has made you think even deep down, yes everybody is scared it could be a member of your family next and how would you feel then i know if it was one of mine i would want revenge cause when i was younger it was an eye for an eye. Yes the goverment has gone soft wasting money that is not Shakilus Townsend or the others killed before him. Yes it is easy to have a slanging match on your pc but are your lives so sad that you need to. The blame for these killings lies with us all, we all live in this country we all need to speak up and improve the lifes of the teens. Think before we speak i am a true believe what goes around comes around so all of you who have come on here to shout off about things they dont understand or pre-judge think on. Thinking of Shakilus Townsend family in there time of sorrow my thoughts are with you throughout this sad time

The bloke was going to meet another girl: as painful as it may be right now, you probably had a lucky escape. There's plenty of decent, law abiding black people out there but unfortunately there's a big pocket of their community who skipped a few evolutionary steps and behave like demented lunatics. Ask yourself why people are sick of this behaviour, wonder why black rappers only talk about money, crime, "bitches" and violence, why is it that America have experienced this behaviour associated to black culture for decades and add to this Islamic fruitcakes and you still wonder why so many people show no "respect" to this lad, his community and many pockets of our so called multicultural society? As for all the retards speaking in text, learn English: you are an embarassment to your own families and sooner or later this tribute could be yours and believe me, wont be cool and it wont be glamourous. All you will achieve once the dust settles is giving your parents a life sentence of immense pain, you will not be remembered as a hero, just as another statistic. No God will save you from that, no memory will gain you recognition: a few weeks will pass and you will be nothing but a number and a burden of pain for your family. If some people out there believe this is a real man's behaviour in this day and age, then we need to re-address the whole structure of our society in 2008.

Louise i didnt know Shakilus Townsend, but i am a mother and any mother will tell you this boy did not deserve to die, nor did the others who were killed before him but from reading the press this was premeditated wether they meant to kill him or not they had knifes and bats. Kids need a good clip round the ear by there parents, but they also need the love and support and respect from them awsell. i was brought up by my dad who is ex royal marine and my morals stem from him and have been passed to my children if you want to play the blame game then blame the goverment who jack shit for this country wether young or old, blame the stupid pen pushers who sit behind a desk creating new laws regarding how we bring up our children if we smack them they can take us to court, these are the people to blame most of them middle aged women who have not had children themselves. The police cant do there job properly due to lack of funding, yet another goverment mess. And yes i think my children are angels and i think i know where they are at all times but if i have to be honest i dont and neither did my parents when i was there age, but one thing i have taught my childrens is to respect there elders and the same morals i was brought up with, i am still scared of my dad and i know my children feel the same about me but i also know they respect me and love me as i do them. My kids hang around the streets, they have facebooks, myspace etc as do there mates, with all there gangsta hand gestures, they wear hoodies does this make my children bad do they or any other teen deserve to die because of this then the answer is no. Yes some teens are thugs they steal sell drugs organise fights etc but still we need solutions to the problems and maybe if the goverment stop the pay rises they give themselves and put the money where it is needed and take the do-gooders out of office, let the parents go out on the street and work with the kids, teach them the morals and respect that this country once had. The parents on this estate have taken control and it is getting better we organise the kids they talk to us, we have no funding but thats ok while we are trying and it is working. Everybody is entitled to there opinion regarding the killings but what ever the opinion nobody deserves to die the way these london teens have and if you think they do then you should be ashamed. Shakilus Townsend was loved by his family and friends and what ever his past he will still be loved by his family and friends who are we to take that away from them God Bless Shakilus Townsend my thoughts are with your family

I am a white female in my late 30's with three children between 8yrs and 18. I didnt know Shakilus Townsend but Why has another young teen died. And why are so many people so full of hatred towards this dead boy. Yes he was in a gang - so what we all have. At one time in our lives we have all hung round the streets, parks shopping centres etc, with mates causing mayhem backchatting adults, drinking, swearing fighting. The only difference is we never carried weapons, we fought with our fists. Gangs of today need to step up and say NO TO WEAPONS respect life not killing respect your community if you dont like someone because of there skin colour its your problem not theres so deal with it yourself your the one with the problem not them. Fight the goverment not each other or area codes this senseless killing has to stop get involved with your community anything is better than the killings Parents - be scared for your children If your scared for them you may take more notice of them find out where they are going who with what they are doing, dont let your child be a statistic. i do all this now but i know what teens are like i was one once and they lie, fib to do what there mates are doing. The goverment and the police cant stop the killings the only people who can are the gangs. So to all the gangs out there not just in london but the country stop the killings do something the police or stuck up waste of space goverment cant do "stand together what ever you differences, and say no to the Killings the respect you would earn would be nationwide instead of a cowardly dozen or so people who are scared of you Thats real respect. To the family and friends of Shakilus Townsend my thoughts are with you at this very sad time

Do these idiots actually know how stupid they look posing with finger guns? why are 80% of knife and gun murders committed by black males? are they not brought up with any respect? compassion? or morals? do there parents know where they are at night? or do they not care because the parents are infact part of a gang? society isn't to blame the parents are, get tough, get a brain, have they not realised yet whats going on? or do they not care? We all may have different opinions on how this boy lived his life but the fact is, this child is dead .As human beings we should respect how his family are feeling and spare a thought for the other 17 victims of knife criime this year. What has happened is a tragedy and one that links all of us. We are all the child of someone, many of us have children and this is a problem whose boundaries know no culture creed or religion. Shakilus has a family who now wish they all down more to help change his life. lets pray this is the last family to feel this way.

this young man known as Shaki, mugged my son a while ago with a knife, his mother obviously knows nothing about his darker still, the cigerrettes and money he was said to share around was more than lightly violently taken from some poor vulnerable soul. The police were days away from arresting him for the mugging but unfortunely justice was given in a way that only thuggs like him can understand. I feel sorry for his hurting parents, but their son has also caused much pain to others!

Firstly I blame the parents for having no idea how to raise their kids, especially black fathers (many who feel its a wonderful idea to have 10 kids with half a dozen different women). Secondly, the kids themselves who have merely adopted the pathetic Gangsta Rap lifestyle from america, its thick beyond words & when you have Inner city white kids talking in that same ridiculous bullshit manner, then you have to wonder if this country has anything going for it anymore. I for one wont cry any crocodile tears for this imbecile & another thing, not one of you appears to have any idea about grammar or spelling, what hope do your kids have?
