On the first day I moved into St Andrews Street, the next door neighbour came out and told me that he hoped I would be better than the previous tenants. I was worried that I had moved in next door to trouble. How far from the truth. I got to know Stan over regular glasses of red wine on the verandah and we would often put the world to rights being joined by the other neighbours in the street. I am sure it looked like we were having regular street parties. Stan was a great neighbour and will be greatly missed by all the people that loved him from St Andrews Street.
Stan was different! He did not align with normal conventions. He was always interesting and interested. We have many items in our apartment that remind us of Stan...being a handyman etc. Many lunches were had at our place, and many, many Christmas's with many, many bottles of red wine. Even though bad health came along with older age, it never ever dulled his wicked sense of humour. We miss Stan. He will always be in our home and in our hearts. Peter Dobson and Peter Thier
