An Open Letter to My Best Friend From: You Know Who I Am Dear Tose to you, I know that there are many of these out there, and this is probably cliche, but here it is anyway. So many people say that they have the absolute best friend but I know that cannot be true, because the very best one is mine. It's not very common to find someone who hates you at first, but develops into the person that means more to you than any other. And you are that person for me. Thank you for (unfortunately literally) making me laugh so hard that I pee my pants, with your idiotic jokes and completely inappropriate but still extremely funny humor. Since we've been friends, there has not been a single day in which we did not have contact with eachother. There's always something too exciting or hilarious happening that needs to be shared with the other. Thank you making me laugh so hard that I cry, and also making me laugh when I want to cry. Thank you for letting our friendship be known. There is nothing I value more than my relationship with you, and it seems that everyone knows that. My Best Friend poem... My old lodger (many years ago) wrote me this poem and to this day I still have it on the original bit of paper, keep meaning to write it up properly...and seeing as some peeps on here are saying goodbye to their best friends thought it quite fitting to share.... Sometimes life isn’t fair. Nobody told us it would be. No one promised us a smooth, straight road with no bumps, turns, curves, black ice or loose gravel. However, we are promised that if we love God and live by His commandments, we will be rewarded in heaven. In Romans 8:18 (ESV) it says, “…the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” And in James 1:12 (ESV), it says, “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.” And, even though we know this to be true in our hearts, sometimes it’s just hard to see God’s promises through our trials. It’s hard to see God while we are suffering from a disease or when our loved ones pass away suddenly. It’s hard to see God’s hand in the middle of a divorce from an abusive husband or when we face the hard, cold fact that we’ve done something horribly wrong. But it is in these moments when God uses His people to bring us back to His comforting, loving, peaceful arms. In Philippians 2:13 (NIV), it says, “for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.” So, today, let’s say a prayer for our best friends - the ones we allow to come a little closer to our hearts than others, the ones we count on to remind us of God’s light during the hard times. Let us ask the Lord to work in them and in us as we journey through this world together, striving to honor God and complete His will for our lives. Dear God, Thank you for your promise to reveal your glory to us in heaven. Thank you for your grace and for your everlasting love. Lord, we come to you today to pray for our closest friends and companions on this earth. I Will Love You Forever, Cosmo by Donna Merkau (Welington, FL) Cosmo is our beloved companion who we were blessed to get from German Shepherd Rescue 9 years ago. He recently became very ill and after several vet visits and specialists, we got a brain MRI and discovered he has a huge brain tumor. While we could try surgery, the prognosis for a recovery is grim. While we are not ready to be separated from him, we cannot stand to see him suffering. We are so devastated; my grief is caving in upon me. We brought him home from the hospital for a couple of days to say our goodbyes. He has brought pure joy to my life. I pray I will meet up with him and my other GSD, Misty, who is still with us, when I pass. I will love you forever, Cosmo. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them; who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Salvation is a free gift of God which you receive through personal faith in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:8,9) Jesus Christ is "the way, the truth, and the life." (John 14:6) No one comes to God but by Him. No one knows the truth apart from Him. No one has life except through Him. Won't you believe this in your heart and call upon the Lord Jesus to save you? A Prayer for My Best Friend that is u tose Sometimes life isn’t fair. Nobody told us it would be. No one promised us a smooth, straight road with no bumps, turns, curves, black ice or loose gravel. However, we are promised that if we love God and live by His commandments, we will be rewarded in heaven. In Romans 8:18 (ESV) it says, “…the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” And in James 1:12 (ESV), it says, “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.” And, even though we know this to be true in our hearts, sometimes it’s just hard to see God’s promises through our trials. It’s hard to see God while we are suffering from a disease or when our loved ones pass away suddenly. It’s hard to see God’s hand in the middle of a divorce from an abusive husband or when we face the hard, cold fact that we’ve done something horribly wrong. But it is in these moments when God uses His people to bring us back to His comforting, loving, peaceful arms. In Philippians 2:13 (NIV), it says, “for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.” So, today, let’s say a prayer for our best friends - the ones we allow to come a little closer to our hearts than others, the ones we count on to remind us of God’s light during the hard times. Let us ask the Lord to work in them and in us as we journey through this world together, striving to honor God and complete His will for our lives. I try to focus on something else, with all my might, but it doesn’t work, I still miss you with deep yearning. All day goes by with you on my mind, no escape.
