The first time I met you was at a party in a cramped, small room somewhere in the UK. We were introduced to each other as 'fellow Aussies'. You asked me where I was from. 'Perth' I said. 'Where'? you asked again. 'PERTH' I shouted, assuming you were battling to hear my answer over the loud music and high volume chatter surrounding us. 'Where'? you asked once again with a dead pan face. Didn't take me long to sample your (very!) dry sense of humour did it? You have made me laugh heaps over the 32 years since then, the last time only a couple of weeks ago via text. I will really miss being able to have a 'Bill humour fix' - because after all (and I quote!) - it's what you do best!! Ciao for now mate. Catch ya at the next level. Paula from Perf. xox

Bill,
From all the mates you made in your short time with the Dirty Reds - the ref has blown time far too early -

There is a pub in heaven and I believe Rugby is the game they play up there. The Royal Oak will not be the same, and I will think of you every time I sit and watch a game of Rugby at the RO.
Our ball which art oval, Gilbert be thy name.
Thy will be kicked, Thy will be passed,
On this pitch, as it is at Concord Oval.
Give us this day many tries, And forgive us our fouls, As we forgive the ref who notices them.
Lead us not into touch, But deliver us from penalties,
For thine is the tryline, the goal kick, and the glory,
Ruck over and over,
Amen.
Billy you were a champion bloke.

Bill, just wanted to say goodbye as I can't make it to Sydney. You will be sadly missed by those around you now and those who have known you. Working with you was fun and never dull, you were a kind and generous person. I remember making this cake for you on your birthday at work and I think it was my way of saying Thank you for being who you were. Michelle

You brought such happiness to my daughter's life. You helped her regain her confidence as a woman and mother. You showed her so much love and careing
I appreciated the way you responded to my grandaughters, you were there to support, encourage and protect them,I thank-you for that, but this has made your passing so difficult to accept. We will all miss you, more than words can say.
R.I.P Bill
