Once again i find myself looking at old tapes i even making my kids read charlie the caterpillar one more time and yet i i am not sad on his passing just sad that the quick wit and contagious smile that Mr Deliuise had and it gives great comfort to see that his wife Carol and as i can see is also being shared by his children I am sure there were some good days and bad days like in my family growing up but the good days way out numbered the bad so for all the family and friends that want to smile just watch or read a story of Mr Deluise THE GIANT HUG WITH FEET .

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of a truly gifted actor. My favorite part of the Cannonball series was with the elephant. You could feel the emotion he had for this animal. To Dom's family and friends, my heart goes out to all of you. This world has lost a very special person. Thanks for the laughs. Rest in peace.

So much of comedy is dependant on a natural talent. Dom was the best, his ease of delivery with just the right tonemade many people laugh. I remember him back as a standup comedian who did all the big shows. He was one of the top 5 comedians of all time. His acting career was just as good. But the most important thing was his family, he was the best family man around. He took care of things He will be sorely missed, we can only hope to use the example set forth by him.

What a truly funny man,I have never felt loss with the passing of someone I never knew. Growing up,he was on Tv,and in the movies it seemed all the time. I don't remember a time in my chilhood not seeing this man. I too,am an Italian-American(Chicago),what a great paisan gone too soon. ooory was mine tOne of my first cookbooks purchased as a newly -wed was "Eat This"........responsible for my love of reading cookbooks like novels....as did he...I wasn't nuts! I knew we must have been related, that story was the same as mine. My deepest sympathies to" Mrs D." & and those wonderfully handsome sons.Benidice Famiglia DeLuise

Really sad to read the news earlier today. I grew up watching the films like Cannonball run and Smokey and the bandit II. The film i really loved was THE END. I can still remember watching Doms first scene with Burt Reynolds when he pretended to be a doctor when he was infact a mental patient. It was one of the greatest scenes in comedy movies. I laughed so much i though my throat would split. Even now when watching that scene i cry with laughter and i know what is going to happen. Also the bit in SILENT MOVIE when he dances on the table as it falls down is hilarious. RIP Dom Deluise, Thanks for all the laughs xxx Pavo xxx

In the early 1980s at a performance of Noises Off in New York, I sat next to Mr. DeLuise and his momma. I remember looking over and eyeing this comedic genius I had so admired, and he said to me, "Young man, would you help my momma with her coat; there's a reward in it for you". I laughed, helped his mother with the sleeve of her coat closest to me and said thank you to him. He was unaware, but my thank you was for all those years of laughter. What a lovely man and respected comic actor! don grigware www.grigwaretalkstheatre.com

So sad to hear we lost another great comedic talent. First, Bea Arthur, now you. We will miss you. You made us laugh until we cried. I remember you and how ridiculously funny you were, playing a woman, in a movie I believe titled The Haunted Castle? And, the many appearances on so many TV shows. Another talent that will never be replaced. RIP

When I was a little boy my parents introduced me to the comedy of this GREAT GREAT man, I am 43 now and still to this will watch when ever something of his is on. He is a hollywood ICON that made some very good actors and folks in hollywood look very good to us out here in viewing world, and that will never be replaced.. But you are now a very large lamb at the right hand of your maker and heaven is now the funniest place.

My heart is broken I always wanted to meet this very funny man that made me laugh so much. When my kids were small he would be at Atlantic City and, a friend of mine and, her mom went to see him a couple of times and got to meet him. They said he was so gracious modest and sweet. At that time I couldn't go. I thought maybe someday I still would have a chance to tell him how great he was! He's made me laugh so much laugh till I had tears and pains in my side. The faces he would make just made you start to laugh. At times just that made you start cracking up. People that make you laugh are the ones that are missed the most they lift you when you watch them! God Bless you Dom you are so loved you gave so much to the world of comedy. I'll never stop watching your movies when they are on I can watch them over and over. I think his sons are great talents I've watched everything they were in too. Hugs & Love to the family Reba

When I was young, my Mom and I used to go see shows in Smithville, NJ. One year when I was about 9, we saw Dom. For him to make a nine year old hysterically laugh was feat, since it was the time of the Osmonds. After the show, I took a small napkin and wrote "My Mom loves you. You reminder her of my Uncle Buddy" I went around the back with Mom, handed the note to a guard, and he went inside. The next thing I know we hear him yell "Thank you". I'll miss him. Thanks for the laughs and the minestrone.

Dom was doing a show at the Resorts in Atlantic City quite some time ago. My parents and my husband and I had dinner in the same restraunt that evening and when we were leaving we stopped by his table to say hello and he was so gracious. My Father spoke fluent Italian and was talking to him and his guests in Italian, when Dom said Oh he speaks real Italian like an excited little boy, what a sweet honey bear. I will always remember the 'capped crusader' (captain chaos) in the Cannonball Series. His humor and zest for life helped me through some tough times. I would like to add my condolences to Dom's family. I had the honor of recently flying from Puero Rico with David. He was a great asset to his family. His kindnes to sit and talk with me showed me what a down to earth type of individual he was; this had to have come from his father and mother. He and his other siblings are in my prayers. I remember growing up as a kid my mother who also came to this country from Sicily and he loved Italians as Like my mother was one too, we would love to watch his movies that had to do with Food.. My own italian Momma would say lets turn on Dom and see how he makes his own meatballs, we make it like him. but the americanos never knew that its not only meat it was mixed with pork too, that is where the flavor came from. I remember as a kid that Ann Bancroft would go to Dom's house after reading his books that he made called EAT THIS TOO, YOUR GONNA LIKE IT, she mentioned to him Dom you have to lose the weight. he said the King shall never lose this weight its called love handles. What a nice man, I guess that he could no longer make anymore meat balls and is cooking for Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, and dear ol' Blue eyes up there. We have the fun memories of the greats that were once to make us all laugh and those were the entertainers not the ones of today...HE WAS AN ICON THAT CAN NEVER BE REPLACED!! We love you Dom, and Only wish we could have met, with you lovely family here or in sicily where my great grandmother would have made you the biggest meatball around. my great grandmother Agatha Migliaccio would have made the meat ball about the size of a bowling ball and said eat and be merry. she was like that, We will always have a place in our hearts for a great funny man... god keep you in his Kingdom our sweet King of Meatballs.

As a little girl, Dom Deluise & of course, Johnathan Winters always left a twinkle in my eyes with laughter & joy. I remember Dom on the Mike Douglas Show, Carol Burnett Show, even Laugh In; And movies like Blazzing Saddles, Cannon-Ball Run, all were totally awesome. They both delivered a comedy that was purely genuine, wholesome, & real not like some of today's comedians who can be crass & vulgar. Memmories of The Dean Martin Show with Sammy Davis, & others during an era that was so much happier. And I two do remember his meatballs. He was one of my favorite comedians. He has touched many a little girls heart with his twinkle of laughter & happiness with their favorite family memmories of watching TV. I will miss him dearly & fondly. Remember the many people he touched with his own happiness his leagacy of this will always remain in my hear A somber fan Elana Rita

I never knew Dom DeLuise but I know people like him in my own large Italian American family, my parents, aunts and uncles born on the Lower East Side of NYC in the 30's. I always felt a kinship with this loving, funny, gentle man. I especially loved his role in Fatso. While it's a comedy there are many truths in it about growing up Italian American and growing up overweight and being loved with food. My heart goes out to his wife of 40 years and his 3 sons, and all his many friends who will miss him always.

Dom DeLuise a great actor in the movie "The End" I watch that movie during my childhood and realized that the best gift that the world lacks in is Laughter. Dom DeLuise stood out from the world and had his secret in Laughter. I lost my grandfather from cancer when I was Four years old and we wanted to try to make it to see me start Kindergarten but cancer stopped him. I found Dom DeLuise as a grandfather figure and as a mentor for me as I was growing up. He is looked at with great respect. Sincerely, Karen Weidner.

Loved everything Dom Deluise did, whether it was just a skit, a cameo, a movie or show, he was wonderful, pure delight and always cheered people up. Luckly, for the world, he left behind sons that are also in the business and are just as funny and good actors as their father. The first time I saw the three of them, David, Peter and Dom act in a show together, was a show called Sea Quest, they were all so wonderful. Dom played a father who had a bad smoking problem married to a woman who was on pills that made you younger. The woman looked like she was 25 years old, with a son about the same age, where Peter played the son, a Sea Quest crew member. With his two pals along for support to help his father, his brother David played one of those friends, another member of the Sea Quest crew. The whole skit and show was wonderful. The three actors were great. Dom played in so many things and just shined in all of them. His recipes, often from his mother, were wonderful and as a person, he was such a delight to be around and have around. Dom will be missed, but never forgotten. God Bless Dom's family. Love you Dom, Robin (Patrick) Bills
