I am sick to death of reading about Katy French in the papers and in the magazines and all the publicity that she is getting. Why is she being glamourised? She was coke user she knew the risks and still used it......... I have absolutely no sympathy for her and it is disgraceful that the media are still highlighting Katy as a good role model.

Like many people I watched DIARY OF MODEL and Katy was an inspiration so calm and beautiful and really down to earth. Why did she have to be taken from us because of one stupid mistake. Katy you will never be forgotten. Rest In Peace.XXX

there are plenty of people out there who have many many talents and many of them are beautiful people,what did this person katy french do that was so important ? inspire people to take cocaine,there is far too much of an issue been made over this person and at the end of the day she did die from taking drugs,as other people have said if this katy french was from the inner city we would have not heard a dicky bird,she was no princess di and as far as im concerned and many other people she was no inspiration at all just an ordinary person,so she is hardly an inspiration to many young influential young girls out there, it was an absolute disgrace as well that the taoisach was present at her funeral,what a joke,many many people out there are outraged and the publicity this model got and the news papers trying to make her out to be a living saint,when she took the drugs through her own choice,before she died i never even heard of her,it is a known fact that the majority of models snort cocaine because of their paranoid thoughts on there weight,models are a bad enough influence on young girls without the added disgust of drugs,at the end of the day when she took her make up off she was just another average looking girl,i would say look to the real people who inspire people not the likes of these models,it makes me mad evertime i see an article about this person on the papers,now if i do i refuse to buy the paper.

Katy was the biggest inspiration to me in my life, she was my friend when I had none and I was hers. She had so much love to give it is unfathomable that it could be contained inside of one person. Her beauty lit up every room. The lengths she would go to to help anyone were always extraordinary. She was incredibly intelligent and a brilliant writer. She had an ambition to write many books. She did not die of an overdose, which unfortunately many people believe because of the newspapers. It is so lovely that she inspired so many people and it is a shame that some people feel they need to argue with other peoples memories. Have a little respect please.

i too would like to know what is this about katy french been some angel,i too never heard of her before she died,it makes me laugh to see what people are writing about her and also are they trying to say they support the use of drugs !!! if this was a joe soap from the inner city that died we would hear nothing about this,it just because she was a glorified clother horse that offered nothing to the country at all

How sad to watch such a beautiful girl speaking about the future last night on TV3 only to have her life cut so short. I didn't know Katy either but I felt an enormous empathy for her family and friends watching the program. I couldn't stop thinking about how her friends and family must have felt last night. As I watched her on TV3 tonight. I noticed the scene with the €5 nickers from Dunnes Stores and I just laughed and wondered how such a glamourous and sexy woman could have such a sense of humour and be so like the girl next door with the looks of a princess. Those people who still write nasty things about her serve only to keep her light shining. Jealously feeds from what it cannot champion may she rest in peace and may her Mum Dad and that beautiful young sister of hers experience the same peace, health and happiness for all of their futures.

I just watched the programme tonight on RTE and although I knew very little about Katy before this I feel a great sense of loss that such a wonderful human being is no longer with us. I would like to express my condolences to Katy's family and also to say that we all make mistakes in our lives which serve to hopefully make us better people as we learn, pick ourselves up again and go forward in life, unfortunately this lovely vibrant woman will not get that chance. How can people show such disrespect towards Katy on this site. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion but some of these remarks can only stem from ignorance. Whatever bad judgement Katy had re drugs, or the company she sometimes kept, she was still a human being, vulnerable and a little bit too real for the Irish!! Her parents and sister are devastated naturally at her loss. That's the bones of it. She was a beautiful girl with such vitality it is hard to believe she is no longer here. I was shocked when she died and felt great sadness and disbelief within. I hope whatever underlying factors of someone else's doing are exposed here. I don't believe Katy had to die and my sympathy is with her family, in particular her mother who's bond with her child is unbreakable and such a loss should never have to be faced by a parent whatever the circumstances. Shame on those you are insensitive and ignorant enough to put their inane thoughts down on this site.

Hi Sarah, I really connected with what you said first with "get over it" and then with "i am so sorry". I've had a very similar experience. When I read some of these messages I got very angry and then when I read your apology I understood why I was so angry. Someone very close to me also had an overdose and I think this is why I was drawn here in the first instance and so angry. It was not at katie, it was at my friend. Now I see where my anger comes from but I guess I need to be less selfish. thanks for helping me see this :-)
