What a dynamic, energetic, passionate performer ! His lyrics moved those unaware of injustices, to action and peace. His music moved millions to dance. He will be sorely missed !

I only recently discovered Lucky through my daughter and as long time fan of reggae I couldn't get enough of his music and message after hearing "Respect". The world has lost a great artist and caring individual due to a senseless act of criminals. I am deeply saddened by this loss but will pay tribute to him by singing his songs forever.

He was a HERO, He covered all aspects of Life!! In every song that he did was a message that added something to my Life and many others who were privillaged to listen to his word. No wonder he was born when ZAMBIA was born!! I Love U Lucky.

This ambassador of peace and unity was my mentor in life and still is. So peaceful and so simple by nature. loved him. When i heard he was coming to Grenada for the first time, i was super excited. My friends teased me..knowing how i liked lucky dube. I had the luxury and the magnificent opportunity of seeing him three times in Grenada..wow..his stage performances are mind blowing. There is no living reggae artist that outranked him in stage performance and singing in head notes. When you hear him sing in head notes..it's like celine dion or mariah carrey singing. I get cold bumps when i hear him sing in these vocals.. May the punishment bestowed upon these thugs, be as swift as Hermes(the winged sandal messenger of the gods). Lucky wherever you are..i remember you. in whatever you do..i love you...

I have been listening and LOVING every single song of Lucky for as long as I can remember. I was very little, about 4 years old, when my dad introduced my siblings and I to Lucky's music and since then I have been crazy about the man! One thing I always told my family and friends was: "one of these days I will do a duet with Lucky Dube" because I sing. That was my dream and I really believed it would become true; then my life was shatered the day I found out, sitting in my living room in this foreign land of USA, that some cowards took him away from all of us. I cried and sobbed like a baby for days and still do, like I've never cried anyone else before other than my baby sister. But, his music will live on in me and I will continue to love it. My singing now will be in dedication to him, for he has helped me through sooooo many tough times with his music. Rest In Peace, my brother and a brother to me you were indeed, Rest In Peace and may the Lord watch over your loved ones.

Lucky Dube played in Monaghan, Ireland, earlier this year. I didn't know anything about the band but they sounded good. Some of the posters round town advertised 'Lucky Dude' and there was dome debate as to which version was correct. Boy, was it a night to remember! Fantastic music, great to dance to, full of soul and groove - loved the women who sang too. I'd love to have seen the band again - the best band ever to come to our small town. So sad for his family, friends and fans around the world. Things are much better now in the north of Ireland and we hope you will have peace in SA too.
